EMC Sports - Penalty problems and an early 3-1 deficit were too much for the Junior B Hawks as they dropped at 7-4 decision to the visiting Char-Lan Rebels on Feb. 5.

Troy Gove got the visitors on the board 2:29 into the game, but Graham Loyst responded for the home side at 7:31. Assisting on Mr. Loyst's 23rd of the season were Brandon Kelly and Ronnie Brohman.

Char-Lan went back on top at 12:10 when Jacob Dawson scored with two Hawks in the penalty box. The visitors brought the tally to 3-1 just 43 seconds later when Ryan Herrington notched another power-play goal.

Ramsay Wheeler restored the three-goal cushion for Char-Lan when he found the net at 13:39 to give his team a 5-2 lead heading into the final period.

Mr. Theriault picked up his second for Char-Lan at 5:50 before Shane Ramsey scored his eighth of the year at 11:47. Assists went to J.F. LeFort and Ryan Leckie.

The Hawks record stands at 18-18-2, just two points behind the Rebels for third place in the Eastern Ontario Hockey League's St. Lawrence division.
